DVD movies!!?? Unpaid!!??

DEFINITELY, we NEVER ordered DVD MOVIES from COLUMBIA. We received a letter with a letterhead, "AlliedInterstate", contact number is 888-297-****, dated 03/02/11, referencing OPS 10, Account No. 900478****, Amount Owed: $48.88. Somehow, this co-called collection company got a hold of my cell phone number, and claimed that I owed $48.88 for DVD movies NEVER I ordered through COLUMBIA company. My wife contacted the number above, and she was told that, "maybe your husband forgot that he ordered." "WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY TRYING TO PULL!!!???." My wife contacted them, and inquired. My wife told the person (middle east accent) that we NEVER ORDERED ANY DVD MOVIES. However, my wife was willing to pay in full the amount claimed. The person inquired into my wife's bank account, as he said that it is best to pay by credit card. My wife was felt like in her mind that this may be a scandal, in which she spontaneously thought and advised the person that she will pay by check, and not by credit card account information over the phone. The person insisted that to pay by credit card will save approximately $18.00 off of the $48.88." At this point, my wife believed that such a collection agency is BOGUS!!

Allied Interstate 800-410-****

I keep getting calls from the above number. When I called back, they won't tell me who they are kept presurring me for my personal info.

I finally talked to a manager who again pressured me for my personal info. I finally got her to pull up the file attached to the number gave her my first name. Once she confirmed that the first name doesn't match her file, she said she will put a request in to remove my number.

However, if another call comes through, I should answer it and tell the person on the other end that I'm not the person they are looking for. I hope this works.

Got a call from 800-410-**** this morning asking if this was the home of Xxx Xxxx, someone we are acquainted with but are definitely not friends. They asked for SSN but refused to ID themselves.

How this "company" got our phone number & associated it with the person they are searching for has to be one for the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales. We've never had any business with either the 800 number or the person they are looking for.

Allied interstate

This company has called three times now, anytime they call they will not leave a message. I looked the number up online and it came back as this real estate company in Atlanta Georgia. I answered the phone when they called today and waited to see what they said and there was only silence. I decided to call them back and an Indian man answered the phone. I asked who he was and why he was calling me 3 times. He refused to identify himself or the company he worked for at first but finally he revealed that he worked for "allied interstate". He still would not revile why he was calling or what his company did so when he asked if i was the person they were looking for i said no and hung up. I then looked up the company name and found out it was a collection agency. Had he told me this right off the bat i would have found out why they were calling and cleared the whole situation up. This company is using deceitful tactics that may or may not be illegal, but i am NOT going to give out any information to anyone who calls and wont tell me who they are and why the are calling. if anyone knows if anything they are doing here is illegal please let me know.

It's not illegal to call you, and it's not illegal for them to attempt to collect an old debt, no matter the age of that debt. I'm not sure how the exact law reads, but they are required to tell you that they are attempting to collect a debt and any information will be used for that purpose, or something like that.

I'm not a lawyer so you should check with one first, but if it were me I would send a cease and desist letter or just pay the bill if you owe it.

I too received a call from this company asking "who I am" and when I told them I wanted to know who was asking since they called me, a very rude woman hung up on me. They are trying to collect an alleged verizon debt with an account number which is not mine. They then tried to get me to give them my verizon account number to verify my account. I think this company is a scam as I did speak to Verizon/Frontier who verified my account is paid in full and I do not owe Verizon any money.

I have just gotten a call from these guys. I have perfect credit and I have no intention of giving them any information. When you call all you get it some classical music and you are on hold and no one ever answers. If anyone does answer I am going to harras them like they do all of us. Don't ever giv out any personal information over the phone. Be in charge andthere is no law that says you have to give collection agancies aninformation at all. Allied your days are numbered. For all of you reading this be aware of these jerks.

Ask them their address and tell them that you hired some FBI Agents to take the money you owe to them. If they refuse to give out an address then you know something is wrong. :grin

This number is Allied Interstate. THey said they are calling on behalf of Capital One. But I called Capital One (1-80*-***-****) and they said that Allied Interstate is NOT affiliated with them. I reported them to their fraud dept too.

So, This is what you do. at first talk really soft so the *** will hopefully press his ear against the phone or headset to better hear you. Then get a LOUD whistle or better yet an STADIUM AIRHORN, and BLAST them in their ear! Keep doing it --- over and over until they hangup on YOU.

if everybody does this at least twice a day, then they will be inundated with calls from US.

I checked out the # and this is a toll free number too - so they pay for it. Bug the *** out of them.....

Allied Interstate = harassing ***

We keep getting calls from their number 866-578-**** (caller ID: Unavailable), even though we are on the Do Not Call Registry, and have asked repeatedly that they stop harassing us. Internet search shows they're Allied Interstate, a collection agency. We are not in business with them, have zero debt and clean credit records = no reason for collection. We got a call again from them tonight, and found out from their agent that they were looking for someone else (who happens to be our neighbor) and wanted to know whether we knew her. We denied to confirm any information. Not only are their repeated, harassing calls unacceptable, but harassing neighbors of people they are trying to reach, and who have no business with them nor with such neighbors, is plain *** tactics. We are taking all the steps necessary to have such practice penalized, including but not limited to complaints to the FCC and the Do Not Call Registry. We will keep doing so until these parasites are definitely neutralized.

These people keep calling here. You can tell they are from India and are very difficult to understand.

They even called me this morning-Memorial Day at 8: 35 in the morning! I too am on the do not call list, so why or HOW can they do this?

Rude message on my machine

Left very rude message on my answering machine stating "I have made several attempts to get in contact with you in regards to some very important documentation that has been placed on my desk that requires your immediate attention." The person they are looking for does not live at my address (although I've had my home number for only a few months, perhaps it is their old number?). Miss Jackson (I'm sure that was her real name lol) left a detailed message which I'm sure borders on violating the privacy of the person in question. I called back & left a message stating that no one by that name resides in this home & to remove my number from their call list immediately. I will be contacting Lisa Madigan's office tomorrow to report this & forward the message. Ms. Madigan, the Attorney General for the State of Illinois, has no problem suing these less than credible collection agencies (and she wins)! Caller ID stated: IQOR, telephone number 561-671-**** but Miss Jackson left the 866-438-**** as her direct line. These lowlifes use intimidation & threats to bully people - scumbags!!

Calls constantly

This place is crazy. A minimal of 10 times daily I call back and they don't have a record of me, they don't have my number on file. Then the ask me to give my full social security number to see if they have a file for me. Asked then to speak to a manager and was told the manager was right beside of the man I was taking to and said nothing else to do. Asked them to never call me again and was told since my number was not in file they couldn't take it out. Totally obnoxious rude harassing people and for no reason what so ever. Please have them stop, I mean these people are being paid to harass the legal citizens of this country...wtf??? They must be stopped at all costs

If you can't find it, how did your company get the number to call? If you're so legit, why are there hundreds of complaints against Allied on several different websites throughout the Internet?

to Hey Jessica

What I think is funny as *** is someone as illiterate as you treying to make fun of someone who has a genuine complaint about your employer. Your obvious inability to spell & master 2nd grade grammar explains why you work for a lowlife "cllection" agency. I'll try to "remeber" that your employer isn't a "schame", whatever that is!! Geez!

Quit being such a ***. If I can't find your number I'm not going to ask for your ssn.

I don't think anyone else should either. If they don't remove it report them it's that simple. Geez.

Let's face it no one likes a cllection agency, But if people paid their bills there would be no need for them.

Yeah, stuff happens and the wrong people do get called and for the most psrt the numbers do get removed. You have to remeber when calling in to get your number removed you have to give us the number that we called or we won't find it.

I have no idea what's going on in your case. You also need to know that all of our clients are huge companies so for you to think it's a schame is just funny as ***.

Guest

Hello to the dude: so you have the right to ask for a social security number and if my number is not in the file then quit *** calling me. This is why I think its a scam if you have no issues with me stop calling and I called at least 6-7 different numbers that had no answer or was not working. Y don't the numbers work listed for allied never a human only pre recorded message...

Guest

You have no idea what you're talking about, it's not a scheme. In fact were as legit as they come.

I've had several people call in and ask me to remove their number.

I go to look it up and I can't find it. How can you remove it if you can't find it?

This is obviously a Phishing Scheme. No business has the right to ask for your social security number. I would contact the Authorities and report it.

Calling Agents Outside USA

I receive a call from Allied Interstate. They refused to identify the reason for calling and misstated that they were in Columbus, Ohio when in fact they are in New Delhi, India. I receive a call from Allied Interstate. They refused to identify the reason for calling and misstated that they were in Columbus, Ohio when in fact they are in New Delhi, India. They did not have the correct account information nor did they have my correct date of birth. I told the customer service rep that I was in the process of filing Chaper 7. I have given them the information in the past yet they stated they had no such information on hand. Bikram Merkei did admit to being in India. But, Rahul Singh swore that he was located in Columbus, Ohio. This is another instance where American jobs are being sent overseas and the customer service reps are not qualified to handle and/or attend to the needs of the individual they are talking to. Always refuse to talk to a rep on foreign soil. Insist on speaking to someone in the United States.

Allied Interstate violating Fair Debt Collections Practices Act

Allied Interstate is harassing people alleging they have clients (the "client" is just a number, no name or identifying info given) that has bought a debt, and they try to scare the consumer in hopes they will pay the alleged debt with a credit card. But these debts are long out of statute, if they ever existed at all. It is illegal to do this. Find an attorney online. There are many who will sue these creeps for you. The law requires they pay you $1,000 plus all legal fees and costs when they violate the FDCPA. Sue them!

Allied Interstate, Inc is harassing me

For the past two years I have been getting calls from debt collectors trying to collect from a deadbeat who, they say, gave them my phone number. *** When I tell them he doesn't live here and I don't know who he is, they simply pass the information on the the next collection company. As and aside, I looked up the deadbeat's name on Intellius and his address is available ON LINE. I got two calls this week. The first call was from Hunt & Henriques of San Jose, CA. After I gave them my "spiel" I asked them to NOT forward my phone number to another collection agency. They forwarded it anyway. Got a call the very next day from Allied Interstate, Inc. I knew it would be useless to be "nice" so I played along with their "game." They asked me if I was "so-and-so." I said I might be. They asked if I was aware of a "certain address." I said I know where it is. They asked if the last four of my SS were "nnnn." I said NO and that I was NOT the person they were looking for, and PLEASE don't forward my phone number to another agency. They said, "If you had told me that in the beginning, we wouldn't be having this conversation." And I thought..."caca de toro!!" It turns out that the "certain address" is a Postal Annex store, which I called and learned that the "deadbeat" has a mail box located there. And guess what? Allied Interstate broke the law by divulging personal information about the deadbeat and the deadbeat could sue them. In addition, if Allied Interstate forwards MY phone number to another collection agency, I'm going to sue Hunt & Henriques, Allied Interstate, and the next collection agency that calls my phone number.

Have you heard that were still in a huge recession, I don't choose to work there I have to work there to survive. And I have to say it I treat every call with respect but i certainly DON'T get that in return. People are just plan nasty, i've been called every name in the book, I've been threatened ....but I continue to treat every person with respect. The funny thing is the debtor has rights but us the collectors have none, you can cuss and threaten our lives and we can't do ***. Sorry to hear that you have to go through what you're going through, the next time you get a call from Allied ask to speak to a Supervisor and don't accept any excuses. If you get a call from the India call center hang up they are rude ***es and for some reason they don't have to follow the strict laws that we have to. (the owner of Allied Interstate/iQOR is from india, that might explain allot)Hang up and call the US center and ask to speak to a Supervisor, if that doesn't work get a Attorney and I'm sure that will stop the calls and you might make a few bucks in the process. No I don't like Allied Interstate but it doesn't mean that I have treat callers rudely.

One last thing tell the next agent that calls you to CEASE all calls they have to and if not there's another lawsuit, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. I have no respect for Allied and I'll fight for the rights of the callers before Allied. Allied Interstate you've created a monster, you treat your employees like *** and in return EXPECT the same.

I've seen plenty of good people lose their jobs because Allied changes the rules on a wimb without telling anyone and then you fire us for some *** that wasn't relayed to us.

If I had it my way I would tell every debtor just to hang up when they get a call from ALLIED INTERSTATE! I wonder if there Clients know about all the *** they do to their employees, if they do I would suggest that you ban Sprint, Verizon, DTV from your list of providers and maybe try T moblie, Dish. lol! :upset

Guest

I also have had problems with Allied contacting myself and my mother. The lady that they are looking for lives over 400 miles from where I am located, totally different address, totally different college she attended, and 11 years difference in age.

I HAVE verified my address, phone number, DOB, and my full name the two times they have called. I refuse to verify my last four digits of my SSN. I have been taught that you SSN is a number that you NEVER disclose to anyone, even if it's just the last four digits. The people calling are absolutely rude when you verify pretty much everything except what underwear you have on.

I'm sorry that your job treats you like ***, but that is your choice to work there. If they are going to have people calling, they need to get their *** right and not be calling people who do work for a living, pay their bills on time, and what debt I have, I make payments on every month, on time. Yes a call every so often may not seem like that big of a deal to the people that work at Allied, but let me call you here and there and be an *** about it and see what your feelings are about it.

It's frustrating to get those calls because I do work my *** off for everything I own and I don't appreciate being called and accused of being someone I'm not and having a debt that isn't mine. Verifying info or not, Allied still continues to call.

Guest

How 'bout a "call" every couple weeks? In fact, two calls in three days from two different collectors?

I recently learned that you dirtbags send it back to the "creditor" when it becomes a "dead end." Why don't you let the creditor know that it is a "WRONG" number? In fact, if you dirtbags did a "reverse" lookup of my phone number you would know that it is a wrong number.

The "debtor" lives in my community, I know his name and I know where his PO Box is. If I can find that information I'm sure you dirtbags could take it a step further and get his address and phone number.

When I find out who the "creditor" is the *** is going to hit the fan.

This is harrassment, pure and simple, and I'll not tolerate it anymore and will do what ever the *** it takes to make it stop.

Pass THAT on to your client.

Guest

hey guys,

I also work with allied, really the employee treatment is bad along with the conditions but really we aren't harassing.. when an acct gets recalled from one office all the numbers in the acct prior reset and the dialer picks them up until another irate customer picks it up.

do what the collection agent said the first time, just say its the wrong number, it makes life easier.. youll probably get a call years later until the debt is resolved.

but really agents have no control of what happens once it leaves the office because that is just how collections work. one call every few years is not so bad

Guest

Sorry, my spelling is real bad on that post. It's because i sat at my computer for 8 hours and got 10 minutes off.

Just enough time to use the restroom and get a drink of water. We can't even eat at our desk.

Tired, feels like the dawning of the industrial age. lol!

Yes I know that I don't have to work there but you try to find a job in this city.

Guest

I'm sure you have your issues with Allied calling you but you shoulf try working there. We get no paid breaks at all.

They give as 5 minute every 4 hours we work. They treat us like trash and they need to remeber that they get what they give.their computer system locks up all the time so when we call you to collect we stall because we have to sit there and wait for your info to appear on out monitor. They clain "it's normail" but they are blowing smoke if you know what I mean. We give 100% and they wany 200%.

Don't get me wrong I have no problem working hard but theses people couls care less about their employees. I've never seen anything like it in my life. you have people that need to worka nd they are stressed out wondering if they will make it through the day without getting a red card or fired. This company has no morals what so ever.

But I can assure that we have to follow the law to a tee. So when we call and ask to verify your address and the last four of your ssn we are required by law to do that. If you chose not to tell us that that's fine but the calls will continue. Remeber I get apis to call you day in and day out.

They fire me the next group comes in.

They DON'T care if you bring in 15,000 dollars every month like I do. They have no loyalty to their employees an that's why we have no loyaly to Allied Interstate AKA iQOR!

Harrasment phone calls and a rude.

My complaint is with caller Danna, she and your company continue to call my house number 904-374-**** looking for a Jakelin Cook. NO JACKELIN COOK lives at this number. After telling Danna and other callers from your office that Mrs. Cook does NOT LIVE AT THE PHONE NUMBER, I ask them to please remove that number from your database.... But nooooo... they keep calling me almost every day. Let me be clear, I am a mental patient on heavy medications. Your Danna has me shaking in anger. Apparently Danna loves calling me but then I started to call her (a few times) and she was mean and rude. I have recorded my conversation with her. If I get one more call from your office I will pursue legal action. r/
